Meet Grace & Lauren
We're Grace and Lauren! We have worked together for many years. Our profession and friendship have taken us all over the world together! We started Balanced Behaviorists out of the need and want to create a more balanced life for ourselves and for our clients. We love what we do and the clientele we work with. Our main service area is the Whidbey Island, WA region, including Island and San Juan Counties and western Skagit County. We are passionate about ensuring that individuals with disabilities and their families have access to services, no matter where they live. From the San Juan Islands all the way to East Africa, we aren't afraid to get creative and assist families in obtaining services, even in the most remote locations!

More About Us
Grace Parkhouse
M.S., BCBA, LBA
Grace has been a licensed BCBA in WA since 2018. She is committed to making a difference through her work and serves on the board of an international nonprofit that promotes awareness and support for those with disabilities. In 2024, she co-founded Balanced Behaviorists, LLC, furthering her commitment to enhancing the lives of others. Grace grew up in a small town in northern Minnesota, and now resides on Whidbey Island, WA, with her husband and beloved dogs. Beyond her professional pursuits, Grace enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing games, reflecting her belief in the importance of balance and joy in both work and life.
Lauren P. Specht
M.S., BCBA, LBA
Lauren has been a BCBA since 2016 and is licensed in both WA and MS. She grew up in TN, but has bounced around from east coast to west coast for the last 10 years due to her husband's military career. They are happy to finally call Whidbey Island their home! Lauren provides in-person services in WA and remote services in Meridian, MS. As part of her balanced life, she enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and their fur babies, and traveling the world. Lauren co-founded and is President of an international nonprofit organization serving families touched by disabilities in under-resourced communities across the globe.
